Résumé. Le Journal chrétien (1754-1764) publié par l’abbé Joannet, qui se situe dans la veine du périodique savant d’inspiration religieuse, propose des articles faisant l’éloge de la poésie chrétienne pour célébrer son « feu », sa « magnificence ». Dans une période dominée par le recul de l’inspiration comprise comme fureur ou grâce divine, la matière sacrée peut fournir un réservoir à la très ancienne thèse de l’enthousiasme poétique – enthousiasme du texte source, qui se communique à l’expression poétique et qui est reçu sur le même mode par son lecteur. Les articles cependant ne sont pas unanimes et l’on voit se développer dans les dernières années du périodique une critique plus sévère à l’égard de la poésie chrétienne qui interroge la notion d’enthousiasme. Abstract. The Journal chrétien (1754-1764) published by father Joannet, in the vein of erudite religious journals, offers articles about sacred poetry in order to praise its grandeur, its sublime. During a period where inspiration defined as frenzy or as divine grace became less pregnant, the sacred matters may offer a source for the traditional idea of poetic enthusiasm – enthusiasm of the original text, which diffuses in the poetic text and which is received in the same way by the reader. Nevertheless, the newspaper articles are not unanimous and reveal in the last years of the Journal, a more critical point of view towards Christian poetry questioning the notion of enthusiasm. Sintesi. Il Journal chrétien (1754-1764) pubblicato dall’abate Joannet, che si situa nella vena del periodico colto d’ispirazione religiosa, propone articoli che contengono l’elogio della poesia cristiana, celebrando la sua grandezza e magnificenza. In un periodo dominato dalla crisi dell’idea d’ispirazione, intesa come furore o grazia divina, la materia sacra può fornire un serbatoio per quanto riguarda l’idea antichissima di entusiasmo poetico. Entusiasmo del testo originale che si diffonde nell’espressione poetica e che viene in questo stesso modo recepito dal suo lettore. Gli articoli non sono tuttavia unanimi e vediamo svilupparsi negli ultimi anni del periodico una critica più severa nei confronti della poesia cristiana che mette in discussione la nozione d’entusiasmo.
