Notre contribution porte sur le premier ouvrage du jeune G. P. Lucini : Spirito ribelle, un récit d’inspiration naturalistequi suscita d’abord l’admiration de son aîné, le critique Felice Cameroni, puis des réserves sévères au moment de sa refonte en roman symboliste. Partant de l’étude pionnière de Carlo Cordié, nous mettrons en relief le sous-texte idéologique de ce récit – l’anarchisme de l’auteur – et le contexte historique – celui de la paysannerie lombarde de la fin du XIXe siècle – qui marque sa genèse sociale. Enfin, nous proposerons une reconsidération critique de l’abandon du naturalisme reproché à Lucini par ses exégètes, pour mieux expliquer, du point de vue de la théorie de la littérature, les jalons qu’il pose pour sa production postérieure, symboliste d’abord et avant-gardiste ensuite. Our contribution concerns G. P. Lucini’s first published youth work, the Naturalist tale Spirito ribelle, which soon provoked his older friend Felice Cameroni’s appreciation, then his severe remarks about its remake as a symbolist novel. Starting from Carlo Cordié’s pioneering study, we will highlight the ideological subtext of this tale – author’s anarchism – and the historical context – of the Lombard peasantry of that time – marking its social genesis. Lastly, we will propose a critical reconsideration of the abandon of Naturalism reproached to Lucini by his critics, in order to better explain, from the point of view of theory of literature, the foundations he lays since then for his future production, symbolist first and avant-gardist later. Il nostro contributo verte sul racconto Spirito ribelle, opera prima d’ispirazione naturalista di un ancora giovane G. P. Lucini, che suscitò dapprima l’ammirazione del suo vecchio amico, il critico Felice Cameroni, poi le sue severe riserve nel momento del rifacimento come romanzo simbolista. Partendo dallo studio pioneristico di Carlo Cordié, metteremo in risalto il sottotesto ideologico di tale racconto – l’anarchismo dell’autore – e il contesto storico – quello del contadinato lombardo dell’epoca – che segna la sua genesi sociale. Infine, proporremo una riconsiderazione critica dell’abbandono del naturalismo rimproverato a Lucini dai suoi esegeti, per spiegare meglio, dal punto di vista della teoria della letteratura, le basi che egli getta a partire da lì per la sua produzione successiva, simbolista prima e avanguardista poi.
