<p align="JUSTIFY"><strong>Résumé.</strong> Dans ses Confessions, autobiographie inspiré du modèle augustinien et du propre récit autobiographique d’Ignace de Loyola, Pedro de Ribadeneyra présente sa trajectoire dans la Compagnie de Jésus sous le sceau d’une fidélité absolue au Père fondateur. Dans cet article, nous nous proposons d’examiner dans quelle mesure écrire l’intime – au sens d’une intimité avec Dieu et avec Ignace de Loyola – put servir à Ribadeneyra de stratégie de défense et d’autolégitimation au sein de son ordre religieux.</p>

<p align="JUSTIFY"><strong>Resumen.</strong> En sus Confesiones, autobiografía inspirada en el modelo agustiniano y en el propio relato autobiográfico de Ignacio de Loyola, Pedro de Ribadeneyra presenta su trayectoria en la Compañía de Jesús bajo el signo de una fidelidad absoluta al Padre fundador. En el presente artículo, examinaremos en qué medida escribir lo íntimo – entendido como intimidad con Dios y con Ignacio de Loyola – puede aparecer como una estrategia de defensa y de autolegitimación de Pedro de Ribadeneyra en su orden religiosa.</p>

<p align="JUSTIFY"><span lang="en-US"><strong>Abstract.</strong> </span><span lang="en-US">In his </span><span lang="en-US">Confessions, </span><span lang="en-US">Pedro de Ribadeneyra inspires himself from the augustinian model and from Ignatius of Loyola’s autobiographical narration to present his trajectory within the Society of Jesus as the symbol of a complete faithfulness to the founding father. In this work, we will try to show how writing about oneself – in order to demonstrate a form of intimacy with God and with Ignatius of Loyola – can be understood as a way for Pedro de Ribadeneyra to defend and legitimate himself inside his religious order.</span></p>
