The desert became a place of passage, an in-between, both place of diffuse holiness and threshold of the holy place, but also meeting place with all those who traveled and lived there and came to introduce the experience contemporary in a journey characterized by the actualization of the biblical past. It finally took on a particular meaning under the pen of Jacques de Verona, brother of the Order of the Hermits of St. Augustine, whose order claimed as founder the Fathers of the desert, through the mediation of Augustine.

Key words: Sinai, Holy Land, pilgrimages, intercultural studies, Eastern and Western Christianities, Christianity and Islamdom, Desert Fathers, OESA.

Télécharger l'article complet (pdf, 334 Kb)
Sat, 19 Dec 2020 11:33:00 +0100 marianne.bloch-robin
