<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Résumé. </strong>Le but de cet article est double. En premier lieu, il consiste à offrir quelques réflexions sur la situation de l’humour graphique de contenu sociopolitique dans le Venezuela contemporain. Face au déclin de la liberté d’expression et aux innombrables tentatives de censure et d’intimidation de ceux qui diffèrent de l’idéologie officielle de l’État, le journalisme indépendant et surtout l’humour graphique passent à Internet. En fait, les vignettes politiques prolifèrent sur les réseaux sociaux, blogs ou pages de journaux numériques et, simultanément, elles deviennent le portrait le plus incisif de la réalité, ainsi que le symbole de la résistance contre le pouvoir. Par conséquent, en deuxième lieu, on essaie de montrer comment les principaux humoristes graphiques vénézuéliens ont passé en revue les événements sociopolitiques les plus récents de leur pays. L’analyse prend en compte à la fois le caractère multimodal des vignettes et les mécanismes permettant de comprendre leurs messages humoristiques et critiques.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Resumen.</strong>El propósito del presente artículo es doble. En primer lugar, consiste en ofrecer algunas reflexiones acerca de la situación del humor gráfico de contenido sociopolítico en la Venezuela contemporánea. Frente al declive de la libertad de expresión y a los innumerables intentos de censurar e intimidar a quienes difieran de la ideología oficial del Estado, el periodismo independiente y, en especial, el humor gráfico se trasladan a Internet. De hecho, las viñetas políticas están proliferando en redes sociales, blogs o páginas de periódicos digitales y, simultáneamente, se convierten en el retrato más incisivo de la realidad, así como en el símbolo de resistencia contra el poder. Por ende, en segundo lugar, se intenta demostrar cómo los principales humoristas gráficos venezolanos han reseñado los acontecimientos sociopolíticos más recientes experimentados por su país. El análisis toma en cuenta tanto el carácter multimodal de viñetas como los mecanismos de comprensión de sus mensajes humorístico-críticos.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Abstract. </strong>The objective of this article is dual. Firstly, it offers some reflections on the status of graphic humor of socio-political content in contemporary Venezuela. Faced with the decline in freedom of expression and countless attempts to censor and intimidate those who differ from the official ideology of the State, independent journalism and, in particular, graphic humor are moving to the Internet. In fact, political cartoons are spreading on social networks, blogs or digital newspaper websites and, simultaneously, they become the most incisive portrait of reality, as well as the symbol of resistance against power. Therefore, secondly, the author tries to demonstrate how the main Venezuelan graphic humorists have reviewed the most recent socio-political events experienced by their country. The analysis takes into account both the multimodal character of cartoons and the mechanisms for understanding their humorous-critical messages.</p>
